What is Moments?

The vision

Moments by deepfabrik reimagines how creators and organizations build relationships with their communities. Instead of treating supporters as passive followers dependent on algorithms, Moments enables you to create ownership-based relationships where community members collect meaningful digital badges that represent their journey with you.

Each badge is more than just a digital collectible—it's a chapter in a multi-year story, a key that unlocks benefits, and a permanent marker of participation that has real value.

The problem we solve

Traditional community building is broken

Algorithm dependency – Your social media posts reach only a fraction of your followers. Platform algorithms decide who sees your content, and those rules change constantly.

No real ownership – Followers can "like" and "subscribe," but they own nothing. If they stop paying a monthly fee or if the platform changes, they lose everything.

Shallow relationships – A follow or like is a momentary action with no lasting value. There's no progression, no recognition of long-term loyalty, no real connection.

Platform lock-in – You don't own your community data or relationships. The platform does. If you want to leave, you start from zero.

How Moments works

The foundation: Badges

Badges are the core building block of your Moments community. Each badge is technically an ERC-721 NFT, but neither you or your user base don't need to understand blockchain to use them.

Examples of what badges can be:

  1. Membership passes: Grant access to your exclusive community platform and content. Like a digital membership card that never expires.

  2. Merchandise vessels: Enable holders to claim physical items like t-shirts, vinyl records, art prints, or any other merchandise you offer.

  3. Event access: Unlock tickets to concerts, exhibitions, meet-and-greets, virtual events, or exclusive experiences.

  4. Milestone markers: Recognize achievements like "First 100 Supporters," "Been Here Since Day One," or "Top Contributor."

  5. Benefit containers: Hold multiple benefits in one badge—exclusive content access, discount codes, governance rights, and more.

The power: Benefits

Benefits give badges their utility and value. You attach benefits to badges to create compelling reasons for people to collect them.

Static benefits (Always active)

Claimable benefits (Require Action)

  • Physical merchandise (shipped to their address)

  • Digital downloads (music, art, documents)

  • One-on-one time (video calls, mentorship)

Benefits can be:

  • One-time - Claim once and done

  • Renewable - Claim again after a set period (e.g., one free item per year)

  • Limited quantity - First 50 to claim get the benefit

  • Time-limited - Available only during specific windows

The progression: Membership system

As community members collect badges, they earn membership tokens—points that track their standing in your community.

How It Works:

  1. You assign membership token values when creating badges (e.g., basic badge = 10 points, premium badge = 100 points)

  2. Members earn these points automatically when they mint badges

  3. Points appear on community leaderboards

  4. Reaching certain point thresholds unlocks milestone badges

Why it matters: Creates natural progression paths that encourage deeper engagement. Members can see exactly what they need to do to reach the next level.

Let's walk through an example of what your community members experience:

Discovery (Day 1)

Sarah discovers your Moments platform through your social media link. She visits and sees your badge collection—some are membership passes, others are limited editions tied to your recent release.

First badge (Day 1)

Sarah decides to mint a "Community Member" badge for $5. The transaction completes in seconds. She now owns this badge in her wallet. She doesn't have to have any crypto knowledge or experience to get started, everything is set up to run smoothly in the background!

Immediate access (Day 1)

Her badge instantly unlocks access to your exclusive content feed. She catches up on behind-the-scenes posts, demos, and announcements from the past month that regular social media followers never saw.

Early engagement (Week 1)

Sarah checks the feed daily. She sees you posted about shipping delays for merchandise—transparent communication she appreciates. She claims a discount code benefit from her badge to buy something from your online store.

Progression (Month 2)

Sarah has been actively engaged. She earned 10 membership tokens from her initial badge. She sees that reaching 50 points unlocks a "Supporter" milestone badge. She purchases another badge from your new collection with a benefit she loves.

Milestone achievement (Month 3)

Sarah crosses 50 points and automatically qualifies to mint the "Supporter" badge. This badge gives her posting privileges in the community feed. She shares her story of discovering your work.

Deep connection (Month 6)

Sarah has collected five badges now. Her collection tells the story of her six-month journey with you. She's in the top 10 on the leaderboard. When you announce a limited "VIP Experience" badge, she's first to mint it… Or if you've instead decided to grant a VIP experience for your top 10 of the leaderboard, she's in!

Community leadership (Year 1)

Sarah regularly posts helpful content for new members. You recognize her contributions by creating a custom "Community Leader" badge and granting it to her. She now helps moderate discussions and welcomes newcomers. You've prepared a custom merch bag with your custom-made work/piece of art/music/… and sent it to her for her long-term commitment.

This progression transforms Sarah from a casual follower into a community partner invested in your success.

The creator experience

From your perspective, managing your Moments community is straightforward:

Initial setup (Week 1)

After our team deploys your white-label platform, you spend a few hours planning your first badges and benefits. You use our visual editor to customize colors and layout to match your brand.

Badge creation (Week 1)

Using the no-code admin portal, you create your first three badges:

  • "Community Member" (basic access, 10 membership tokens)

  • "Founding Supporter" (limited to first 100, includes exclusive content, 50 tokens)

  • "Merchandise Holder" (vessel for claiming one free item, 25 tokens)

Launch (Week 2)

You announce your Moments platform on social media. Your existing fans start minting badges.

Daily management (Ongoing)

  • 2-3 times per week: Post updates to your exclusive feed (5-10 minutes)

  • Weekly: Review benefit claims and process any merchandise orders (15-30 minutes)

  • Monthly: Check analytics, adjust badge offerings, plan new releases (1-2 hours)

Growth (Months 2-6)
